(93) Persistent feature II

A tattoo is a picture drawn right onto human flesh in a special kind of parlour! A tool something like a homemade dental drill is used to permanently etch ink into one or more images drawn from a mind-boggling array of possibilities. The associated pain and bleeding is an important part of how a tattoo lets its bearer display their awesome personhood. POWcityblog posits that the proliferation of tattoos makes them a part of the urban image environment, the spectacle. Ditto for tattoo parlours.

Water stained, faded by age and the sun and a little saggy these gals nonetheless caught our eye along Queen West and filled us with desire. ...and we weren’t even that drunk.
