We've already expressed some of our feelings at the difficulty of accommodating mannequins on the POWcityblog and now here they are, at it again. Don't they know they are just tools of the hyperconsumption machine? A machine that stops at nothing to manipulate and maneuver and plant empty images in our minds in order to separate us from our hard-earned money and whatever real coolness we can muster in our short time here on Earth.
editor's note: instead of sending telegrams to the bunker accusing us of being a pornified, Catholic, Moma's boy with way too much time on our hands please read Consumed: How Markets Corrupt Children, Infantilize Adults, and Swallow Citizens Whole By Benjamin R. Barber. 406 pages. $26.95. W. W. Norton Company.
