(37) Poster

Controversial for some, the lowly poster has been a source of random urban aesthetic delight at POWcityblog for decades now. Even out in the 905 poster culture seems to be taking hold, although in the likes of Brampton and Mississauga posters tend to be of the '$300 DIVORCE' kind rather than for a reading by an "outsider artist" such as Sheila Gostick. This is a poster of Ms. Gostick's that appeared around Poorkdale recently. We like it. Now, Ms. Gostick's thinkings and writings and truthings are not for everyone. We imagine she is happy with that and her commentary on Poorkdale is often profound and second-to-none. But for the demands of our high-powered career we may have attended the reading advertised on this poster. We might have asked, "Why the description 'outsider artist'?" Is there some other kind?
